Uncle Sam vs. Union Jack. Preferred ride of Silicon Valley vs. James Bond’s go to whip. Up start futurism vs. old world elegance. Pebble Smartwatch vs. Rolex. Something American vs. Something English… Continue reading
Recently I had to take ‘Scarlett’ in for a check up. Primarily, I just wanted to have an unfortunate scratch taken care of. It happened to be a crisp, fall Friday and I had a few errands to run. I needed a loaner car for the day. There just happened to be a couple. One of them caught my eye though… A midnight blue Tesla roadster. I had heard that the service centers were now incorporating them as loaner vehicles. It seemed too good to to be true. Continue reading
Last night Tesla Trips was invited to be a vendor at the monthly “OMSI After Dark Series.” An excellent event that was quite busy last night. There were over 20 local breweries and many other local vendors as well. The next one is on October 30th and costumes are recommended for the Halloween theme. Tickets are only $25, which includes a tasting glass and tokens for tasters. It’s one of my personal favorite brewing events. Plus now that the Oregon Zoo no longer does their annual brew fest, I can safely say OMSI’s is my favorite in Portland.
A video that follows up to a previous video from Wired. This clip highlights the different approach that Tesla takes to manufacturing. A philosophy, that looks forward to the future of sustainable transportation. Bringing the advances of heavy automation with the originality that comes from a strong human element.
Impromptu photo downtown to commemorate today’s success!
Story Musgrave is a retired NASA astronaut and while he may be referring to the his adventures in space. I’m referring to how long it has taken to get here and how much farther we have to go. We are taking a moment to celebrate today’s news. Tesla Trips was finally recognized by the City of Portland as an Executive Sedan company. We first applied to the City of Portland in April and have been waiting very patiently. We are all very thankful for their decision and we welcome the opportunity to serve this great city!
Don’t get me wrong: the Tesla Model S in its stock form is one sweet ride. However, Tesla Motors has plenty on its plate right now, and it doesn’t mean something that is already great can’t be made better. James Bond didn’t just have a 1964 Aston Martin DB5; he had a 1964 Aston Martin DB5 with twin .30 cal machine gun. While I think of myself mostly as a pacifist, the addition of the machine guns endows the vehicle with a certain je ne sais quoi. At Tesla Trips, we obviously have a bias towards electric vehicles, but there is no denying the eternal beauty of the ’64 DB5. While the Tesla is, in a lot of ways, different, the car’s design language does frequently get mistaken for the British luxury marquee, which in no way is a bad thing. It’d be as if every couple of days, women would come up to me and say, “Oh, are you Ryan Gosling?” I mean obviously they do, it’s just not that frequent… Continue reading
Yesterday, while taking a break from trying to setup a new GoPro, I jumped on Twitter. I happened to come across a local Portland blog reviewing cars. I looked around and, before long, did a search for “Tesla” on the page; I came across the image at the top of the screen. I saw the original picture a while ago. I’ve always loved it because it’s a very active way to promote the advantages of an electric vehicle.
Tesla Motors just posted a video that visually goes through the components and advantages of the vehicle. The video is also broken down into smaller ‘bite-sized’ videos highlighting certain focused aspects of the car. I would have embedded the videos directly into this post, but unfortunately that is not currently a possibility. Check the links for the actual videos.
We’ve received questions from guests about how spacious a Model S is, specifically the rear seats, and I’ve generally compared it to some of the other larger luxury sedans, like an S-Class Mercedes (Mercedes and Tesla have more in common than you’d think…). Tesla Trips is participating in some upcoming local events at which you’ll be able to see the spaciousness for yourselves. Continue reading

We choose to partner with and endorse other businesses who do the same. Our webpages will soon start revealing some of these great experiences and special treats we will offer our guests.
